Theta
Gettysburg College
Sigma Chi Fraternity has had a proud and long lasting tradition, one that has made it one of the largest and most respected fraternities in North America. The new Sigma Chi Theta colony here at Gettysburg is attempting to come back and restore its own tradition of excellence. It began in January 2007, when two freshmen, Aaron Lawson and Andrew Gaess decided that there was no fraternity on campus that suited their needs. They decided to begin their own fraternity and choose Sigma Chi. Over the next year, Sigma Chi Theta has grown to 22 members. All of these members are outstanding and distinctive individuals, who have set themselves apart as both men and as leaders. All of these men represent the ideals of justice, friendship and learning that have set the men of Sigma Chi Fraternity apart from others for the past 153 years. The members are committed to excellence and their community as seen by their already superb service and philanthropy record that includes but is not limited to adopting several jogging trails, collecting food for the hungry and working at a local soup kitchen. It is these ideals and the outstanding qualities of each member that shows a bright future for this new chapter as it looks to continue to grow and to continue to serve and represent themselves with distinction.
